In the new traffic secrets 2.0 video he says

"Just about every niche has already been thought of or...someone is getting ready to market to it right now"

Do you agree?

Sounds like an echo from the past... the US Patents Attorney chief from the 1880s, from memory, declaring that everything that could be invented had been.

Bold statement. (Hope John's been using using Teflon moisturizer on his face to help any egg slide off quickly.)

In my opinion, not every niche has been discovered...but most have.  That doesn't reduce your opportunity to profit in the niche by any means though.

In my opinion, it takes a more "global" influence to create new niches now than it once did (i.e. a new technological discovery, a new "fad", etc...).

No way has every niche been thought of and exploited to it's fullest potential...
And even if every niche has been...There is always a way to do it better then they did.

Just like amazon products and google adwords...which I am writing an application for right now. There is always a keyword opening for just about any item.

I believe he also said every marketing method.

Obviously not every niche or every marketing method has been found or used.

I think the point he's really trying to get across is that there is so much testing and money already spent online that you'd be crazy to ignore it and try to reinvent the wheel.

Learn from what people have already done online and save yourself a whole pile of money and heartache.

Kindest regards,

Blinking Eck! Profitclinic you been around since the 1880's?  Grin Sorry John, couldn't resist  Wink

Statements that get up my nose!

"There's nothing new under the sun!"  (course there isn't it gets burnt up if it's under the sun! right?)
"It's been done before!" (So what, it can be done again, can't it?)
"I've seen that one, and I can tell you, it won't work!" (but they won't tell you why it won't work, will they?)
"I know the secret to longevity!" (unfortunately they died before passing it on!  Roll Eyes

And the point was to agree with Andrew Cavanagh,

Not every niche or every marketing method has been found or used. Blanket ones have, but like adding zest to the tonic. Learn from what people have already done on-line and offline and save yourself a whole pile of money and heartache.

Don't look at the big " I Am's' " who, incidentally seem to have to have a new BIG promotion every two years minimum - yet they made millions on the last one - go figure!

Look at the little "BIG" guys who are quietly sitting there doing what appears to be not so much, but they are doing just the same.

To cite a few examples, Jim Edwards, Yanik Silver, Michael Green, Michel Fortin, Neil Shearing, Gary Vernum, and someone called Tony Blake.
Modern day masters of older model makers.

OK, picking up soap box and walking away.
Thanks for listening.

Kindest regards,

Janet Sawyer

(My wife has a key tag that says "Quick, ask a teenager while they still know everything!")

But, whatever you do, don't rely on spell checkers!

John,

Your Spell Checker poem is sad but true.

My 18 yo son (hmmm....sounds like a match in the future  Grin)
is dyslexic, so spell check doesn't always help him.

-----------------------------
Regarding John R's proclamation, even if that were true (which
it isn't), new niches crop up all the time.  I hate to tell you the
things that have been invented since I was born (when dinosaur's
roamed, my kids would say!).

Hi Janet,

Whenever someone mentions spelling or grandma, there's always a typo in there. . .

Hi Folks

I try really, really hard not to spell incorrectly.
But no matter how hard I try a word spelled incorrectly
always seems to creep in when I write.

It really really bothers me. But what about those e books ?
I always find words spelled incorrectly in E books.

Theres no excuse for that right ?

But what about grammer ?

English , I'v been told is the hardest language to learn.

It was my hardest subject in school.

I agree that niche products can be improved.

Whew, because I'm trying to spell correctly, this has been a hard post
to write.

Roger,

actually my point - cool  Lips Sealed

Fourum is ware there are four doing it! what, you might ask - well, hanging out the washing? or is that dirty laundery?

mispelling - it really Trudey awful sometimes  Grin        -

I call people out for their Grandma  Huh? - their punctuation and their tonnacity of posting - saves me saying and getting sued for anything at a latter date "You are a liar, your sales page stinks, you are just fleecing poor individuals looking for the dream. You are a lower life form than a double glazing salesman who incidentally stated before he left he would never come back with a better offer - well you know what I am getting at here!

I just ran this through the spuke checker and chose the appropriate words  Grin

Hi Debbi  Grin

Re: that possible future match: be afraid... be very afraid!

This is a child who, at 4 months was saying "NO!", by 7 months was demanding "why NOT?!" and, by 10 months was winning arguments against adults regularly. At 14 months, after a discussion on choice and consequences (the result of two weeks of atrocious behaviour), I asked her what she thought her mother and I should do the next time we saw her misbehaving. Her instantaneous reply, without blinking or pause... "Pretend you don't see me?

*Shudder*

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then these two photos from a recent professional photo shoot ("The Babysitter") sum up what I'm trying to tell you very succinctly.

1. Perception

2. Reality

It's been a fascinating — but terrifying — almost-19 years.

"Just about every niche has already been thought of or...someone is getting ready to market to it right now"

Do you agree?

It's time we stopped slicing and dicing EVERY WORD an expert
speaks/writes and start focusing instead on the bigger picture.

In a nice presentation, Chet Holmes once said that success does
not come from doing 1,000 different things - but from doing the
critically important 8 things... one thousand TIMES each.

Forget about finding a 'new' niche or 'new' marketing method.
Instead, WORK the ones that are already working.

That's a paraphrase of what John's driving at in that video,
btw Smiley

All success

I agree with Dr. Mani.

I think part of the reason people are always looking for statements to disagree with is it helps them feel like they are in the same league.

Everything that John is doing is about John
and his product launch, it hasn't been earth
shattering or really eye opening to say the
least, it just a typical product launch campaign.

Words do mean different things to different people
but that one statement John used is a load of BS
and he knows it, that is like saying there will not
be a tomorrow or we are going to plummet into
darkness forever.

Code:
"Just about every niche has already been
thought of or...someone is getting ready to market
to it right now"

This is so much bullshit it just sounds like a scare
tactic to get people rattled up about his product
launch.... he said it with such arrogance like his
word is king...
