Network Marketing => Recruiter -OR- Sponsor? Hello Partners:
To expand our Network Marketing (MLM) businesses, we must acquire BOTH new Customers and Biz Associates.
In fact, a 'healthy' NWM Organization should have a ratio of about 75% Customers -- and 25% Biz Builders -- or it will begin to unwind.
This message refers only to attracting Business Associates.
QUESTION => Are we RECRUITERS -OR- are we SPONSORS?
ANSWER => How about NEITHER ONE?
Although Network Marketing Companies 'technically' use these terms -- I personally believe that I am NOT a person's Recruiter OR Sponsor.
I am their BUSINESS PARTNER -- yes, Business Partner. And IF I'm going to help my Biz Partners become successful (and thus, my own success) -- I had better bring to the table, one critical element ==> some
real VALUE.
I feel strongly that every one of us in this great industry needs to 'ask' the following question:
What "value" am I offering my potential Biz Partner?
Back to RECRUITER -vs- SPONSOR -vs- BUINESS PARTNER...
Let's bypass
RECRUITER for now. Recruiters (in our industry, at least) somehow give me a picture of Heavy Hitters -- "throwing enough against the wall -- hoping some of it sticks". It is a little like "loving them - and leaving them".
Somehow, I feel a
SPONSOR tends to "assume responsibility" for a person -- or "pays for some biz promotion" for them, etc.
I do
neither of these -- for I am NOT their Sponsor => I am their
PARTNER.
I will NOT assume responsibility for their actions -- their success -- or their failure.
I WILL however, do everything in my power to assist them in achieving
their goals and dreams -- by giving them counsel on successful, proven methods for, first - - -
(a)-- Building Trusting RELATIONSHIPS with their prospects - and
(b)-- Getting the EDUCATION and the SKILLS necessary for success - and then
(c)-- Promoting their Products // Services -- AND their Business Opportunity
I will NOT tell them to -- 'try this' -- or 'try that' -- to see IF it works.
Neither will I ever ask them to do anything I myself will not do -- for I am their
Biz PARTNER.
My OWN success is 100% dependent on THEIR success.
If they should fail -- I also fail.
That is the way a PARTNERSHIP works.
I would not have "chosen" them as my PARTNERS, if I did not see that they possessed the qualities that are openly apparent of a potential LEADER at some point.
I don't want, or need, their money from 'initial product purchases'.
I do, however, want the money that will flow to me over time --by coaching them to be successful.
When prospects have a burning 'desire' to LEARN -- and they want something better than they now have in their lives -- and they are open to weekly coaching (with a willingness to let me monitor their progress) -- I will 'move heaven and earth' to - walk with them - run with them - share the burden with them - cry with them - rejoice with them - whatever.
Part of my VALUE to them (I hope) will be to SERVE them by providing a proven "track to run on" -- with access to all the tools / resources they'll need for success.
But I will tell them 'up front' that the journey will NOT be easy - I do not want them coming in with false expectations (a major cause of 'attrition' in our industry).
However, as their Biz PARTNER, I'll be right there beside them - each step of the way.
We're
Business PARTNERS -- that's what Business Partners DO.
A Partnership is not about just ONE side 'doing all the work' and 'assuming all the risks'.
A Partnership is about EACH sharing ideas - growing together - building something WE can be proud of.
Hopefully, this will add to a Team Spirit - and serve as an inspiration to OTHERS who decide to partner with us as well.
Strictly my OWN thoughts on this subject.
Here's to YOUR success and happiness.
Sincerely, Peter A.
