Hi,

Ok, rather than me continuing to read ebooks that were written in 2006, I wanted to get some quick feedback on whether or not co-reg list building is still considered effective?

Or, another way to say this is…are there still top marketers or companies using this method to build their email lists?

Yes, I’m aware that many “affiliates” will “game” this system by creating ways to get real people to unknowingly enter their real info, but, well…we all know that casino’s have employees that steal.

Meaning, I understand there are cons with this & every other every possible way in the world to make money…but, in late 2008…does this still work?

I currently have 4 different ebooks on this topic…. but…. rather than go any further into my research; I figured I would just ask for opinions or advice.

Are there any resources, blogs, coaching on this specific topic?? (I’m happy to pay for it—if the tactic is still viable. )

I don't get your point about "unknowingly enter their real info".

Why would you want them to enter fake info?

GetResponse sells co-reg leads and imports them to your autoresponder without having to opt the list in again. I think if I was considering this as a viable list building tool, I would use a reputable source like GetResponse. They also have detailed tutorials and information about it on their site.

Hope that helps!

Lisa that is great info.

I was temped to go down this road a year ago but then found out that you had to buy thousands of leads at a time and that the leads were not always relevant to the products you wanted to promote.

It would be interesting to see if anyone had any success with it here.

Many thanks

Yes co-reg still works, actually pretty much everything in general still works online however there is one crucial element that everyone overlooks and when they fail to see the one crucial element they all go back and blame the system.

This one crucial element is....

THE OFFER!

The system works just fine, but it's the offer which breaks a lot of people. Some are lazy and don't put a  lot into the offer while others fail to recognize this as a crucial element. I suggest you read The Irresistible Offer by Mark Joyner... - Killer Book!

I am about to release version 2 of SubscriptionRocket which is a co-op (co-reg) service that is specifically for newsletter subscriber generation in the Internet Marketing niche.

Something to keep in mind is that when you work with any co-reg service, you need to have your own autoresponder/list software as having people automatically added to your list is not allowed (against the TOS) by companies such as Aweber, Getresponse, etc.  (Though with some thinking, you can get your co-reg list people to jump over to your Aweber, Getresponse, etc.  account. )

I used the GetResponse co-op before.
I find that service is very good. It will only attract those people who are interested to my niche.

Cherie,

Great point, I mean it should be obvious, but getting leads as close as you can to your niche (or for your exact niche) is always the way to go.

Example: Some people pay $X for home business leads and try to send them an Internet business opportunity to them.  Yes, a certain percentage would be interested, but they bought the "home business leads" list because it was cheaper.

Paying for a more targeted list is always better.  Having a list of leads that are for your exact offer/niche is always best.

I would say that coreg data is still very much alive and responsive for people.

Just like someone has already said in the thread, the one crucial element is. . .  DEFINITELY the offer.

We all know coreg data from live feeds is still pretty effective. .  In fact, I can tell you that as a data list broker for the past 5 years, coreg data became the way to go after Can-Spam, and I can tell you about many success stories I've witnessed first hand as a broker.

In fact there are many new sources that go into the coreg feeds now adays.  If you're curious, I would recommend checking out our data page on our site: data4marketers .  com.  We have many samples and descriptions that will give you a good overview of the coreg feeds and sources.  Please send me any questions/requests by email.

Happy marketing to all!
Thanks,
