Guys.  Flogging the dead horse ain't gonna make it run faster.

Stick to the principles.  Find targeted, starving, thirsty market -> sell them a glass of water -> then sell them another and another till they refuse or drop dead.

Persistence will pay off and regardless of the method, it's all about fulfilling those desires which are pretty generic.

My comments are in parentheses.  My "Reason" for responding to THIS, INMO, is, THIS is a "Drive-By post"!

It says nothing but "sweeping generalities"!

Reminds me of an "Obama" speech;
"The FUTURE is Coming!"...."Prepare for it!"..."CHANGE is coming!"..."Get Ready!"

I live in a town that was called, "The Timber Capital of the World!".  Generation after generation of "Loggers" lived here, merrily working in the forests....earning a good living...having their sons follow them...etc....UNTIL The Clintonians arrived in '93 and all but shut down the local timber industry and instead of timber providing funds for most of our county citizens....we are now a "Welfare State", depending on the US Gummit for money so our County Gummit can provide needed services...and even those funds may dry up next year.

What this means is that we now have 12% UNemployment with lots of alcohol and drug addiction and child abuse problems....because ya can't take someone who can chop down trees and train them to work on a KeyBoard.

So...what do "people like me", who's never depended on a "Job"....do, when we come across some of these "Timber" people, who "have some moxey" and are about to lose their homes?

We see if we can show them how to start their own biz and earn their own income!

I've helped people get into "Deck Renewal"...."Removing Oil from Parking Lots and Drive-Thrus"..."Cleaning Parking Lots"..."Carpet Cleaning"..."window washing"...a few others and just recently a "Welcome Service".

Here's an "OffLine" service I helped one of these "former Timber Workers" set up and....almost anyone can set up and profit with;

In most any town, no matter how bad the economy, there are people changing residences...either buying homes or renting.  These people are in a new neighborhood and the businesses and professionals around them would like to "Introduce" these new movers to their products or services.

Well....one way to motivate these new movers to visit local businesses and professionals is to...."Offer them a Super Deal...with few restrictions or conditions!"   "Super Deals" like;

Now...if you will notice something about the about offers;
1)  They have relatively HIGH Value
2)  There are no or few conditions placed on the offers

This is because these "Offers" are only going to 100 Newcomers each month.

Now...the businesses and professionals making these "Offers" will PAY $120/mo to have their "Offers" printed on Paper Coupons and MAILED to these 100 new movers each and every month.

Now...all I did was make up a few Sample Coupons and go visit businesses and proffessionals...find the Owner...show him what I'm doing...quote a price and ask him/her to join.

So...we now have 32 people paying $120/mo for us to mail out 100 Coupons a month!  100 batches of Coupons in an envelope cost about $200 ($2 per envelope) including;
Printing
Collating
Stuffing
Sealing
Labeling (purchase Names from Mailing Co)
Postage

We're now working on our 2nd area with a goal of having 90 clients paying $120/ mo = $10,800 a Month for a Simple OffLine business....mailing 300 Envelopes a month.

I hope this has given ONE person inspiration to try.

So...GO FOR IT!  Local Businesses and Professionals are WAITING to pay you a Handsome Monthly Income!

Great plan Don.

The coupon book method you mention has been proven to work
in many different towns, cities and countries.

Very effective.

Over 20 years ago I knew an alcoholic who did this and made
his money in pubs out of SELLING the coupon books (with all
those valuable gifts in there they do have a very high perceived value).

I also know of people who ask for a percentage of the ongoing
income the coupons create...usually somewhere in the range
of 5% to 20%.

This takes a little more convincing (and you may have to drop
the fee you charge upfront) but it can be very lucrative if you
work hard at making sure you have a range of honest business
people who will pay you for sending them new clients.
