First off, if you fill in the "Where" in your profile, people can help you a little better. And there are a lot of helpful people here.

If I understand your question correctly, the answer is that a lot of us have lost a lot of money when starting up our online businesses. Very few just "jumped in" and were immediately profitable (despite what you see in some of the ads).

For instance, one way to lose massive amounts of money is to launch a PPC campaign, but fail to monitor and limit your spending. In Google, there is a field which allows you to limit your daily spending and another to limit your maximum bid. Keep close track of both.

It's also possible - common, even - to lose a lot of money on some of the online offers. Be very careful to make sure you know all of the terms - some of them hide fees or monthly subscriptions (called continuity) way down in the fine print, and that kind of thing can drain you dry.

Read the boards here, and you will learn about a lot of the possible problems and possible solutions. And if you have any specific questions, ask them. Chances are good that you will get some useful answers.

Hi,

You will lose not only money, but a lot of time and effort if you just jump in without knowing what to do.   The first thing you have to do to engage in an online business is to have all the tools needed to succeed.  You need to be trained first before you are ready.

Hi ehawee22

Keep on reading the board. A lot of your questions will be answered.

There are plenty of people in this forum who will give you good answers to your questions

but you must help them out by being more specific with your questions.

Best Regards

I agreed with fayeherment.    Be very careful and cautious to what you pick out.    I myself have lost a good bit of money because I failed to do research on some of the programs I joined.    I have been an internet marketer for almost 10 years and there were some rough times but I'm finally on the right track.  I know what to do and what not to do now.    Number 1 do your homework and research the program or business opp you are interested in.   This will save alot of time and money when all is said and done.

The possible problems are really what you should at BEFORE you start. I understand that you have decided to start anyway and then ask what the possible problems are. I understand the question but do you? Online marketing is so vast that you need to chose a direction, an aim, an objective, answer any raising question and go for the final goal. I hope the precision of my answer relates to the precision of your question.

You want to know what is going to be in the storm! Who knows, for everyone it is different. Your problems marketing will be dependent upon your marketing experience. Did anyone ever really hit it rich? likely not, we all have different learning curves. How well, or poorly you do will depend on how well you are taught each area of marketing. I agree with Jopka, you need to know the direction you are going to be heading. But to know what tomorrow might bring, what problems your going to run into? Whew, wouldnt it be great to know the future.

I am not losing money but I am not making money either. I think it has to do with the economy. I try to put ads in classifieds on line and that does not seem to work. I even lost a client in my accounting practicing paying me $300 per month. He found someone to do the work for $60. I won't do it for $60 there was too much payroll to do for that.

Before I started on-line in April this year, I paid for someone to give me some internet training but as I didn't even know what I needed to know, he taught me stuff that wasn't going to be any good in internet marketing, so most of that was a waste of time and money. Then I signed up to a couple of courses from the world's top Gurus (well that's what their copy said) and that cost me much more time and a lot more money AND confused me. But at least I learnt how to recognise the hype about how anyone can be mega-rich double-quick etc so now I look around for the (few) people on-line who take the trouble to explain things in ordinary language at beginner's level.
It's a lot easier to spend money on-line than it is to earn it - which is true in any business but I somehow expected it to be lot cheaper to get started than it's turned out!
