One of my sites (like the first link in my sig below) uses a 2 column theme where the login widget is located on the right column. I would however like to use a single column WP theme where the widget is below the post...or even in the post. Is this possible? Do anyone know such a widget enabled one column WP theme who looks good for the purpose of a squeeze page?

Please let me know. As per my knowledge, most widgets use a second (or third) column for its purpose.

Perhaps a single column can be modified to be used with widgets. Any idea how to do that?

Thanks

You can try a plugin called "postpost" - it allows you to plug into your theme for ads, but I imagine you can place any html or script you like in the fields.

Hope that helps!

I have not tried it but if you install a single column theme I would think it might put the login on the bottom.

Lisa: Thanks. But I think it does not work

BotherBob: You have right, but in order to do it on the bottom, that area must be widget enabled. Actually, that is the case for all widgets. Most areas you can put them are widget enabled sidebars. Widgets will not work on non-widgets enabled areas of a WP block

Thanks both

Think? I don't know why it wouldn't work. I use it on several blogs. Worst case scenario, you can always edit the theme files directly to do what you want.

Do you use WIDGETS together with the postpost plugin? Yes/No?

As soon as I find the time, I will make the test. Probably this weekend.

But just let me know in advance if this is the case with your blogs or not.

No, it has configuration settings in the admin panel.
It allows you to insert whatever code you wish in several places (like below your posts).
Try the plugin before dismissing it. It may fit your needs.

Your right about widgets, they don't work in non widget areas and about moving the signup to the bottom doesn't sound like a good idea. All the big marketers say have it above the fold, in other words, on the page that shows up when you click on the link.
If it's easy to find, people are more likely to signup or sign in, as opposed to scrolling down and go looking for it.
