I know just about everyone does this, but for the life of me (right now) I can't figure out how to get PayPal and Aweber integrated.  I would like to have my customers added to a mailing list so that I can email them future updates of the product (my first book) I'm selling them along with the occasional announcement.  How would I go about doing this? Should I give them a form to fill out that will capture their email address, then direct them to PayPal. .  or should I direct them to PayPal first, then direct them to a form to fill out?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Recently I helped set up a program that utilized the after purchase method and it caused a few issues with people not following through after purchase either by closing screens or thinking the product was coming via email to name a few.

What I have found personally is that an ideal and productive way to go about this is by using a membership script mainly because they can purchase, sign up for your site, and your list in one full sweep.  The added advantage of it being a membership script is the fact that you can use an in house affiliate system usually standard with scripts like Mike's BFM or Robert Puddy's LFM.

The easy way that works with any payment system and any autoresponder is to just put your signup form for the customer list on your download page.

Beware of scripts that automatically add the customer to aweber, since although it will work technically, it's also against their TOS.

Here is my take on this after payment why not
redirect the customer to a page optin or squeeze
page with a shot video letting them what to expect
and what you want the customer to do.

I've done this and subscription went up 10% and more
this is simple they have to signup in order to collect
their bonus or products what ever they paid for.

I have actually set it up like that before when I helped Simon Leung launch his
Death Of AdWords report we set it up like that and it did work, but the customer
support nightmare it caused made us rethink using that method again.  With members
closing the page after purchase or ranting about having to opt in after purchase.

Although it works, from experience I tend to lean away from that method.

I've had the optin form like that for years and never a single complaint. It seems that just people in marketing forums complain about stuff like that, but real customers don't.

Hi tstephen

I build my list with a landing page that gives away
a free 14 page e-report about information products.

Your giveaway should not only be of interests to visitors,
but give them something they can use, is helpful and
shows examples of what the content can do.
