I knew it's a good thing I took a snapshot of this:

What do you think?

That deserved to get deleted IMHO.

Banging on the mods isn't a great way to add value to any community.  The good ones have a rule:  Don't harass the mods, they have a job to do you don't understand.

Also, note the person in question had only one post.  That means they signed up under another account just to harass the mods.  If you try that trick on some forum like hardforum.com or genmay.com you will end up with a permanent IP ban.

IMHO, you should thank your lucky stars Tony hasn't kicked you off of here yet for this post.  You might want to edit and or delete the OP while you still have some time.

Hey Floyd -

I appreciate your response. It IS a great idea not to hassle mods on a forum! Smiley

However, I personally have fallen victim to the same thing myself... having posts deleted on other forums without reason. Often what happens is the OP is interesting, I've posted a thoughtful reply, and someone comes after me and posts something questionable (according to their forum rules) and the entire thread gets deleted.

That's one of the awesome things about this forum - we take censorship very seriously, and won't delete anything without discussion, and even then allow for the OP to make the changes needed to comply with forum rules and/or the law.

If we do delete something, it's generally for a very good reason, and we will usually PM the OP to let them know why the post was removed. UNLESS it's blatant spam.

Cheers!

There's nothing more frustrating than to have an incredible post deleted... without reason... by following all the rules...

... My guess is most deleted posts at the Warrior Forum conflict with the moderator -- not the board rules. In other words, the moderator is deleting posts when a new post offers a free solution (compared to a paid solution from one of their buddies within their inner circle ).

That's the real reason most posts are deleted... it has nothing to do with breaking rules or posting spam.

Yes, The Warrior Forum has every right to delete as they please. But we have every right to complain about it and let others know they're not alone when their great posts are deleted.

By the way, every single "Warrior" I've spoken with (either by Skype, private message, or over the phone) admits their frustration with deleted posts at the Warrior Forum. Every single one -- I know, because it's the first thing I always ask. They all say the same thing, "I don't know why my post was deleted... I gave one of my best strategies ever."

By the way, I'm not sure why you think it's hasslin' a mod -- plus, wouldn't Alan Says (owner of the Warrior Forum) LOVE the idea -- it's free publicity for him. What's he worried about?

Let me give you an example of the frustration of deleted Warrior posts...

... Every Thursday, I have a live call-in broadcast called "Stump Markus". On my broadcast, I regularly feature the best marketing ideas that I stumble upon from the previous week.

One amazing post (from the Warrior Forum) was titled:

13 Things I Learned After 1500 Article Submissions

Now this post was pure GOLD. The poster could have easily sold it for $19 to $49 as an ebook. Instead s/he gave it away.

And on my broadcast, I posted a link to the article at:
http://www.warriorforum.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=241466

So how was the poster rewarded -- the entire thread was deleted. What the F.

As you might imagine, I'm getting a bunch of people asking me to email them a new link if I find this amazing article -- what a pain.

URGGGGGG.

Well, it's actually Allen Says.  Grin

And, having threads deleted or not deleted...two things come to mind...

1)  The Mods are human beings, so there are tons of variables as to why threads get deleted.  As for hassling mods, well, that usually isn't a good idea.

Keep in mind that posts get reported to the mods by forum members as well, so it's not just the mods deleting posts...they are responding to members reporting the posts as well.

2)  If a valuable thread gets deleted, it's certainly a shame, but this won't be the last time it happens, no matter how many times you try to stop it or mention it.  In my opinion, there is no sense in complaining about it at all.

My two cents.

I've actually had a mod at the Warrior Forum private message me and tell me the thread was deleted because he didn't like me.

I looked up the forum rules and couldn't find anything about that there.

As far as not complaining about things -- I COMPLETELY disagree. If my members at my board complained about unfair treatment, I would drop EVERYTHING to get to the bottom of the problem and fix it ASAP.

In fact at my board, I have a no-delete policy. Plain and simple. And yes, I've been called all kinds of not-so-nice things by drive-by posters. One guy told me to stick a tampon up my as* after I gave John Reese's Traffic Secrets' course a not-so-good review.

Again, that's how THIS forum differs.

Forum members complain - it's part of how a community like this works. How we respond is what sets us apart.

While we respect the reports sent in by forum members (because generally reports are meant to protect and help the board) we don't delete or edit anything without serious discussion. Negative posts can also be educational! Same with opinions that are not popular, and rants about practices that others don't like. It stimulates discussion, and is a great resource for future readers.

Other forums prefer to keep a specific "tone", and that is entirely their right. No real point in complaining, as Joseph said...

Just come here and post instead. Smiley

That's what makes different forums unique. In the way that they handle posts. One way isn't necessarily better than the other? I like both the ABlake Forum & the WF. That's why it's best to hang out in a forum awhile to feel out how it's operated. If your going to participate in a forum shouldn't you try to fit in? Each forum has it's own personallity, kind of like trying to fit in at a school. Smiley

Absolutely!!
I am a long-standing member at Warrior Forum, and I've made plenty of good contacts, learned lots, sold lots... I expect there are pros and cons to every forum, even this one!  Shocked
I just know there are MANY people becoming extremely disgruntled with post deletions there, and it's a great benefit to this forum, in that we DON'T do that.
Other benefits (like being able to embed video, use affiliate links, etc.) are just added bonuses, and so many more are on the way - which you'll see at certain milestones... like when we reach 1000 members! (SHHH!!)
We aren't yet as busy here at this forum, but I'm proud of the content here, and the intelligence of the community. Not every other post is "How do I make money online??" or "I lost my house, my car and my dog... help me!!" or even worse, "How to make $4,651 in half an hour!"
I'm sure there are going to be growing pains, but so far, I'm very proud of what everyone here is contributing to this community, and happy to be a part of it all.

Lisa

I couldn't agree more!  I use the WF regularly (mostly to lurk and learn - sometimes laugh, sometimes cry!) but it seems now to be full of the same old posts, like those you mention OR "how do I cloak affiliate links" (my answer - use the search facility and some effort!) OR "what do you think I should call my great new website?" (my answer - use your imagination and a bit of effort so that whatever someone else has publicly suggested hasn't been registered before you can get there!).  The list goes on!

Anyone know how to make $3,783,982 in two seconds? (my answer - stick some money on the lottery - you'll have more chance!)

Anyone else have answers to the dull posts on WF?

As for the deleted WF posts - get over them - or get out (...more)!

Long Live ESF !

LOL

I had to do a little prank..   Post the thread was deleted for no reason then move it to over to the Rant section.   LOL

As a mod at Warrior's and Admin here at ESF, I thought it added a little to it.  LMAO

Ok, I am going to go play around offline now.  If any of the Mods or other Admin's want to reverse my prank go for it.  But yeah, I agree with Lisa on this topic.

That's really funny, Terry. Huh?

I hope this gets reverted back.
