I would treat my husband to a nice meal  (not before I had a nice hair-do though!).

Seriously - what are you wanting to do with it?  A little more info may help us!  Huh?

Is this a rant?

There are many things you can do with $100. You can:
1. You could get a website setup with Hostgator for $24. 95 in your first month and $9. 95 subsequently and sell infoproducts that you have resale rights and master resale rights to. Such could include PLR's,audio and video products
2. You could sign up on a freenlance website like Gofreelance for $39. 95 per month. They woul thn send you jobs which you indicated you want when you signed up.
3. You could go the affiliate marketing route and use your money to advertise through PPC. You could get Google Cash for details on this method.
4. You could create some business materials like postcards and business cards and give them to people at networking events. These materials will say what you do and how they can contact you as well as what's in it for them. This method is also very good if you want to get offline clients that want to take their businesses online. You just position yourself  as a marketing consltant.
5. You could also create your ow infoproduct and sell it from your website. This would virtually  be free if you have the following:
-A computer with internet access
-Microsoft Word
-A PDF converter
-Audacity (for creating audio products)
-Camtasia Studio (for creating video screen captures of your screen and audio)
These are just some ideas. Hope this helps

I would suggest solo ezine ads.  Very cost effective.

You can start with $100, but it will be difficult.  The fact is, that while there are all kinds of freebie webhosts, autoresponders, and graphics programs you can use, it will look amateurish compared to the more professional sites that are competing against you.  There is a school of thought that thinks that cheapo websites convert better, but I don't subscribe to it.

If I were you, I'd find a way to get some more startup money.  Maybe you could sell some things on Ebay, or start out as an affiliate for ClickBank products and work your way up to a higher level of investment and then plunge in.

I don't say this to discourage you, I'm just being realistic.  It takes money to make money. . . not a whole lot, but more than $100.

Barry

P. S.  I would be the first one to eat my hat and congratulate you if you prove me wrong.   :)

Hi Barry

I agree with you. I have a hard time doing what I want to do with my budget.

It's better to get some more money together . $100 won't last long.

If I had the money I would jump right in and start doing PPC campains.

And do some more Solo ads. You get  better results by spending money on

advertising.

But if your just starting out it's a good amount to get your feet wet.

But it takes time and money to get a business off the ground.

And planing. You need a good realistic business plan. And you need

to determin how much you need to get your business off to a good start.

You have to figure in advertising cost...hosting...product purchases....

You have to determin what path to take....affiliate marketing...

PL products....products with resale rights....adsence....how are you

going to make the money... what kind of money sites are you going

to use.  If you are a green beginer I think it would be better to spend

the 100 bucks on a good mini internet marketing course to learn the basics.

their are plenty of them around and I'm sure it would not be hard to get some good

recommendations from a forum like this.

Any one starting out needs cash flow as soon as possible . 100 bucks will get

spent pretty quick that is why you need some cash flow coming in to be

able to keep going with your business enterprise.

For example one of the products that I sell is a work at home biz. Sure it only cost

a one time $15 to start but you still have to spend money to get traffic

to your site. Of course you can start out doing free classifieds but the best

return on investment is on paid advertising. You have to make some sales

or you won't make any money period. And that goes for any type of business.

Might as well get real here .

Sales is  the only thing that will help anyone succeed in internet marketing

or any kind of marketing . The only way to get cash flow is to get sale flow.

No sale flow  no cash flow no money flow no business.

Best Regards

Dave T.

Barry, I am with you for the most part.

My opinion is the "free/low-cost" mindset kills internet businesses.

If anyone wants to "make money online"...which is a mindset typically associated with "free/low-cost"...it is most certainly possible...but keep the following in mind:

Using the internet as a means of marketing a business is continually developing.  While still in its infancy for now, there are more seasoned veteran marketers that are using the Internet now than before...with very successful businesses of their own.

They don't use "free/low-cost" resources to stay successful.  Yes, they do combine some free/low-cost marketing tactics with proven advertising methods...but with a different overall mindset in mind...

Building a scalable business using the internet as a marketing media...not as the business itself.

So, if you only had $100.00 to start...I would tell you to build up more starting capital as Barry did.

While that is not what people typically like to hear, or were conditioned by marketing to hear...it's the most sound advice you'll get period.

Hi

I sort of agree with Barry.   Just like any other business, you have to invest to succeed.   But also like other businesses, investing time in hard work will compensate to some extent for lack of money.   Whilst you're getting a bit more cash together, don't wait, jump in and start by using low cost or free stuff.   You can learn as you go, not risk a great deal of money and maybe make a bit.   If it doesn't work out you can ditch it when you can invest more.   $15 for a domain from Easy Internet Solutions comes with free everything else.   Start working on your circulation list.   Some of the free sites are ok.   Try freeffas. com - in my experience you get a low return rate, but they're free!  Also, don't forget 'conventional' routes to growing your list - ask friends to ask friends (but don't spam them).   Find some free stuff to give them.   And lastly, don't blow your money on get rich quick schemes!

Best of luck

Barrys advice is good.  Also keep in mind the internet is just a communication method- to run a business.

Here is some free help:

1. What are you interested in- what subject would you talk/write about even if you would not get paid
2. List building- You must start building a list of interested people who also like the same subject (look at anyone who has made money online and I will guarantee they have a list)

3.  Be paient- it will take time, work and effort. . .

You can start a website and use internet marketing to generate extra revenue.  Buy something to reward yourself? Many uses but it all depends on your priority.

If you are a newbie, I recommend you put your $100 in your pocket and learn as much as you can.  Learn how to create a web site (learning basic HTML is all you need).  It may take you about a month or less if you have a lot of time.  Explore most of the advertising techniques available for example: email marketing, free and paid ads, pay per click, traffic exchange programs, ezines, seo, autoresponders, how to write ads, and more.  You can find all that information for free all over the net.

Hope this helps,
