Hi Folks

Just some comments on List Builder Pro just in case some of you are looking into it.
List Builder Pro is a opt-in list service.

It seemed like it had some credibility according to the sales page so I
tried it out for $56 for 500  opt-in email addresses.

Well I got the opt-in email addresses as promised, the only trouble is that
when I started emailing to this list about 30% failed to deliver email.

Also I did not ever get any last names and all the phone numbers were 555-1212 !

Seemed pretty fishy to me so I cancelled my subscription to this list.

Regard the Best

I don't know this particular service, but I'm surprised only 30% weren't delivered. You'd be better off spending your money getting traffic to your own optin form.

I once tried one of these services where they promised a certain number of double optin subscribers who had supposedly actually seen my ad (rather than just some generic category). At least 90% of them were obviously false info, obscene email addresses, sometimes not even correctly formed addresses (like "bob@aol" without the .com)... I was supposed to get 500 or whatever but the actual number of real addresses that ended up on my list was literally less than 10. I could have gotten more from Adwords for the amount of money I spent.

Then the obvious question becomes- if these subscribers are so good, why isn't the service just building its own list and sending offers, rather than offering this service?

Thanks for posting about it Dave. Did you get anything out of the list at all?

I was going to say the same thing as Chris, why would they sell them if they were good. Course then again if you can sell the same names over and over, maybe that's how they make their money. With the high rate of undeliverables, maybe they were old?

Probably not old so much as never valid in the first place.

Some people just love to enter bogus data in optin forms. Sometimes it's because they are anti-spam zealots to the point where they don't think there should be any commercial email, even if it's quintuple optin. Or they want to get the sender in trouble, or send unwanted mail to someone they dislike.

Yep, that's how it worked, I had my ad that I wrote on their site, people
who responded opt-in and directed to my site.

When I started emailing these people I got alot of undeliverable replies.

your right, the best way to start your list is to use your own opt-in
landing page.  Then do your own ad campaigns. PPC, solo ads, ezine ads, article writing
blogging .....anymore ways that I missed ?

I concur with the majority here.  The Opt in service sounded fishy.  If the traffic or leads are good people
will sell to the traffic first before selling the leads......

I agree the best investment you can make for your self is building squeeze pages and doing PPC to build your list and then your golden. Is it cheap or fast?  No........

Other ways to get traffic have already been mentioned but I have tried them all and none beats PPC with forced squeeze pages for long term revenue......

There is one gal on here (LISA) who can build kick ass squeeze pages if you need help!  Best email service
in my view since they allow single opt in with a responder is Icontact.com.  Not cheap as your list grows
but effective when using with PPC......

Thanks Joe, for the "shout out"!
I noted the mention that you made of single opt-in... I believe GetResponse has that option as well, if I'm not mistaken. And it doesn't have any bearing on the cost of the service, either.
